Happy Halloween! October's been busy, but here I am at it again. What I called soykaf two weeks ago developed into a game. I used all and every bit of skill I have when it comes to raylib.
Programming graphics was definitely easier this time around, using a library like this helps a lot. It might be insulting to just call it a simple "OpenGL wrapper", it does more than than just that.
I didn't bother so much with the art, I pulled it from OpenGameArt. However, I tried to learn some... technical skills. After completing a shader course on OpenGL, I felt very motivated to dwelve into graphic technologies more seriously, so I started learning how to do things like fog and collision, I feel I got a better grasp of the math that is behind all that.
I've also did my best to learn how to create mazes and labyrinths, this became a central point in the game. They get generated each time you start the game, the amount of keys and their position are randomized as well, so they are always different.
In any case, this is all I managed to do in little time and with my current skills, I am very proud of myself. There could be some adjustments, there always are, but I guess I'll just leave it as it is for now unless I get a very cool idea.
It runs only on Linux at the moment, will a wangblows build ever see the light of day? I can't promise you that. But enough blogposting, I won't spoil it no more. I hope you like the forest level.
I wish well to those of you who played Battlefield 1 today and... Happy Halloween! 👻🎃
