Greetings! I am making this post to announce the game I am working on, it is called "CantoSalvaje" (later on I'll explain the meaning of the name).

This is my final project for a gamedev course I've been attending since May. It is a very simple prototype made in Unity, but still, I put a lot of effort and sweat into it. Everything was made by yours truly, I've learnt how to 3D model in Blender and the basics of gamedev in Unity. It is not finished yet. I've also had to learn how to use Photoshop.

So anyways, here's a bit of gameplay:

Pretty cool, right? As you can see it is quite early in development, you might be able to see a couple of bugs, but eh, I'm proud enough to show it off B)

So far the game is only about getting the highest score/surviving the longest, but it is still pretty green and I don't want to limit myself so much

Apart from the firing sound I took from a random yt vid, I did everything myself. Lemme show you some renders...

RENDERS

Deer render, front face.

Deer render, back. Antlers begone.

Rifle animation I haven't implemented in Unity... yet!

Anyways, it's still a prototype, I guess it'll be a few more weeks until I publish it on itch.io or something. I most definitely have to fix some bugs, like the weird thing happening with the rifle's mesh ingame.

There's so much more I want to add, and a very big amount of ideas have I discarded, I guess this is just how making a game is, a very iterative and time-consuming endeavor, but man, the payoff is amazing.

Game's logo. Pretty simple stuff.

INSPIRATION

It is hard to pinpoint exactly which games inspired me, I talk a lot about inspiration and whatnot in this post.

But I can definitely state that the movement came from boomer shooters such as Ultrakill and Devil Daggers (the infinite spawning enemies idea also came from the latter). For the score system, I wanted to emulate something like CoD:Zombies, and of course, why the hell are there deers in this game? What is the deal with that? Welp, しかのこのこのここしたんたん influenced my decision on making a 3D model of a deer, and since I already had it in store, why not use it for something? I also wanted to model a Kar98 rifle, so making a "hunting" game with some twist made a lot of sense to me. Both of these things are cool on their own as well.

FINAL WORDS

I've learnt a lot while doing this, as I mentioned earlier, and I am quite proud of it being my first actual game I didn't use a tutorial to make. Unity makes things a hell of a lot easier to just get something going, huh. I still can't believe I wanted to make a game engine before even making a game.

In any case, this is what I've been working on for the past couple of week, let's see how much longer I can keep it going. My goal? To make a fun game. Of course you are more than welcome to send suggestions or wacky ideas I could add, or just chatting :D (Just go to contact to get my info)

Thanks for reading my post!
